Wicked Mirror is an interactive installation that confronts visitors with their digital double. After expressing their personal opinion on a societal issue, a photorealistic AI clone of their own face and voice appears moments later on a large screen — arguing the exact opposite position. Equipped with real-time face and voice cloning, speech recognition and large language models, the work stages a debate with perhaps the most persuasive opponent of all: oneself.
The installation reveals that conflict does not arise solely between different social groups, but is also embedded within our own ways of thinking. Rather than resolving contradictions, Wicked Mirror deliberately keeps them open, turning them into the starting point for dialogue.
The work reflects on how reality is negotiated in a present shaped by Artificial Intelligence and digital representations. It asks how beliefs are formed, how easily positions can be reproduced, mirrored or inverted through technological systems, and what authenticity means when even our own face and voice can become instruments of persuasion.
